Step By Step To A Completed Novel!

To Write Or Not To Write? That’s The Question Only You Can Answer!

“You can always edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page” —-Jodi Picoult

As a kid, I loved to write. I’d write short stories just to entertain myself. I was that weird kid who loved it when the teacher would ask us to write about our Summer Vacation. I had quite an experience one year after the teacher asked us to read our stories in class. You can read all about it in “Are You Enough?”

I have had many jobs in my working career. I am not a formally taught writer, I don’t have that special piece of paper saying that I know everything there is to know about the Art of Writing.

I truly believe the Art of Writing is something you have inside waiting to get out. You have the talent, but you just need the know how. That’s where I come in, I was in the same boat when I started!

I have read everything I could, took courses just to learn where to start on my novel journey and I jumped in with both feet!

I hope that this Blog will help to motivate you, to get you started on your path to finishing the Novel that has been in the back of your mind for years. This is the year to just do it!

Where To Start?

First off, you have a lot of soul searching to do, and questions you need to answer. One of the biggest questions, why do you want to be a writer? Think about and write down your thoughts to these questions.

1. Is it just because you want to see your name on the best sellers list

2. Do you want to be famous?

3. Do you want to Educate people or entertain them?

4. Are you hoping to get people to accept your views on a subject that is near and dear to you?

5. What makes you think that you have it in yourself to sit down and write a novel that is anywhere from 65,000 to 110,000 words to create a fiction novel. Then ask yourself, Am I enough? http://creativewritinghowto.com/are-you-enough/
